Science Behind Hydration
Behavior of Water
Water moves to solute concentration to create a proportional fluid balance. If you lack electrolytes, water may pass right through you. During activity, you use and lose electrolytes, most notably sodium. Your body also uses electrolytes around the clock in other ways, thus depleting your stores.
Faster Absorption
Normally closed, cells will open up when sodium paired with glucose is knocking at the door in the sodium-glucose cotransport system. This movement creates an osmotic gradient where water is pulled into cells, bringing along other electrolytes with it.

HYDRATION HAS EVERY RELATION
Daily
Maybe you live in a hot area and work outside. Maybe you are one of our beautiful first responders who is on their feet all day. Maybe you are re-mineralizing your reverse osmosis filtered water. Maybe you simply seek more nutrients throughout your day. All reasons are valid because electrolytes are key minerals that your body needs to function. Ground supports your days with the electrolytes you need to succeed.
Exercise
Whether you are a runner, an athlete, a weightlifter, a cyclist or a dancer does not matter. We all need hydration to keep both our muscles and our minds working properly. Between using water and electrolytes while you work and losing them as you sweat, it is crucial to replenish. Ground aids your hustle with the perfect hydration package with clean ingredients and a light flavor to help replenish and recover.
Sleep
What should someone drink before bed? A "warm glass of milk" is what we remember hearing. Milk is rich in calcium, potassium, chloride and phosphorus and also has magnesium and sodium. With its healthy fats, Ground channels the benefits of dairy and natural sugar with more electrolytes for the sweetest of dreams in our dedicated sleep formulas because hydration is important at all hours.
Focus
Stimulants, like caffeine and nicotine, are the go-to for energy, but that energy is incomplete without glucose and the electrolytes that help produce ATP. Ground always emphasizes health, which is why we created a well-rounded energy dedicated package to support your grind. Caffeine and l-theanine coupled with the proper vitamins (B3 & B8) and aminos to boost your ride, rather than crash it.
Travel
Airplane cabins are often drier than deserts, with humidity as low as 5%. Whether flying or not, we tend to forget to hydrate while traveling. This travel-induced dehydration dries out our mucous membranes which normally help fight infection, leaving us vulnerable to sickness. You can even get your water tested at TSA to bring it through security. Load up on water and electrolytes when flying to build a solid foundation for your trip.

Additional Commentary: The FDA dietary guidelines criminally under-prescribe many nutrients, such as sodium, magnesium and calcium3. Monocropping and other poor farming techniques leave our food supply devoid of naturally occurring nutrients5, forcing consumers to source supplementary minerals and vitamins.
